Women’s History Month

March is Women's History Month. Join us in celebrating the great contributions women have made to the history of our nation and the world by attending one of these upcoming programs:

Women Who Ran For President

What do Victoria Woodhull, Gracie Allen, Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Dole have in common? They've all run for the office of President of the United States! In this unique, fast moving, and thought-provoking presentation, national award-winning public speaker and historian Barry Bradford will share the amazing stories of the women who blazed the way for women in the political process. Barry will also predict who will be the first woman to be elected president!

Three Women Artists: A Drawing Workshop
Thursday, March 21 • 6:30 pm
Location: Eastgate Branch Large Meeting Room

Learn about three popular female painters: Georgia O'Keeffe, Frida Kahlo, and Mary Cassatt. After a brief presentation touching upon the lives and art of these fascinating women, participants will choose a reproduction of one of their paintings to copy in colored pencil under the direction of art teacher, Christine Thornton. No art experience required.
