3D Printing

The Library's 3D printing service is available for a fee to patrons to make three-dimensional objects using a design uploaded from a digital file.

  • 3D print jobs less than 30 grams = $1
  • 3D print jobs more than 30 grams = $1 + .20/gram

Cost will be determined based on total material used including all necessary supports and printing aids. Prior to printing your request, a staff member will contact you with a final cost for your approval. Notary Services

The Harnish Main Library offers notary services in the Administration Offices on the upper level. The notary public verifies the person in his/her presence is the signer of a document. Notary hours are typically Monday through Friday, 9 am through 4:30 pm; however, please call 847-458-6060 to verify services are available before coming to the library. Please bring a current photo ID with your signature on it, and do not sign the document(s) prior to arriving. Please call or contact us for additional information.

Request an Obituary

Often the missing link or the best starting point for many successful genealogy searches, obituaries are mini-narratives of a person’s life, often highlighting major happenings between the birth and death dates. Our staff is skilled in research and can help you find an obituary to help your family's story unfold. Please fill out the obituary request form.

Teacher Materials Request

Our Youth Services Department can pull materials that may be useful to teachers or their students as they study a particular unit in the classroom. Materials checked out are subject to the same lending limits and fines as other library materials. Patrons are limited to 15 items per request. Please fill out the request form if you’d like to have materials pulled for checkout.

Test Proctoring

Proctoring is available to any student age 16 years or older. There is no charge for proctoring; however, proctoring is by appointment only. Exams are scheduled based on the availability of rooms and staffing. Appointments may be scheduled: Monday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No tests will be proctored on Saturday or Sunday.

Proctoring requests must be submitted at least 7 days in advance of the proposed test date to ensure staff and room availability.

The proctor will be an adult service staff member on duty at the time of the exam. Study rooms are available for two-hour reservations. A reservation may be extended one additional hour to accommodate a proctored three-hour test. Exams must be completed 30 minutes before the library closes. We are not able to accommodate any exams longer than three hours. Test materials may be printed at a charge of $0.10 per page.

To schedule a proctored exam, you must acknowledge our terms and complete our online request form.  Exams may not be scheduled via the phone.
