The Algonquin Area Public Library subscribes to a number of online magazine and newspaper services for your reading enjoyment. All can be enjoyed online via a web browser, and many provide apps for reading on tablets and smartphones.

PressReader

PressReader offers unlimited access to newspapers from around the world, in 60+ languages, all on your device. Local papers include Chicago Tribune, Super Express Chicago (Polish), and LaRaza (Spanish) and the New York Times. Click "Sign in" and select "Library or Group" to get started.

The New York Times

Enjoy free access to the New York Times and other premium content usually reserved only for subscribers. This app is compatible with most iOS and Android devices.

If your device is not compatible with the New York Times app, you should still be able to access directly from the New York Times website through Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, or Silk web browsers.

View, download and read digital magazines. Many popular titles available with back issues you can view on your computer, tablet or mobile device.

Flipster offers an easy, browse-able reading experience. Users can browse magazines by category as well as perform searches for specific periodicals. An online newsstand provides a carousel of the most recent issues, as well as a carousel of all issues allowing for quick access to magazines. The table of contents contains links for quick access to articles of interest and hotlinks within magazines are hyperlinked, opening in separate tabs when clicked. In addition, there is an option to zoom in and out for better readability.
