Our 2026 Winter Reading Program for all ages kicks off on Monday, December 15!

Shake Up Some Stories!
This winter, we’re encouraging you to shake things up — with a good book, of course! Try a new author, a new genre, or even a different format like an audiobook or eBook.
And while it might be cold outside, winning some prizes along the way just might keep you warm this winter.

Already have a Beanstack account? You’re ready to shake things up when Winter Reading begins December 15! New to Beanstack? Create your account online or in the app (iOS/Google Play) to get started. Shake Up Some Stories runs through Monday, January 26, 2026. Reading logs will also be available to download and print at home.

Challenge Instructions

Shake it up and get ready to read! Winter Reading is here, and it’s for everyone in our community: AAPLD cardholders, cardholders from other libraries, and even those without a library card. Shake Up Some Stories and drift into a winter filled with reading and excitement.

You have the chance to earn prizes throughout the program. Grand prize drawings are reserved for AAPLD cardholders.

Dates and Details

  • December 15, 2025: Paper reading logs will be available at the Adult Services Desk and Youth Services Desk at both the Harnish Main Library and Eastgate Branch.
  • January 26, 2026: Winter Reading ends.
  • Week of February 2, 2026: Grand prize winners will be drawn and notified.

Shake things up and read, and be sure you don’t miss out on the chance to win some amazing rewards!

Register for Winter Reading and earn the newest addition to the AAPLD collectible card set, Flurry the Fox, and more. 

Other registration prizes include:

  • Youth (Babies-Grade 8): Mini-box of Nerds and coupons
  • Teen (Grades 9-12): Rice Krispies Treat and coupons
  • Adult: Mini Tic-Tacs and coupons

Read for five hours to complete the challenge and earn your prize:

  • Adults: Mini Magic Ball and coupons
  • Teens (Grades 9-12): Paperback Book, Winter Pen and Notepad, and coupons
  • Youth (Babies-Grade 8): Paperback book, wintery toy, and coupons

For each hour read (up through 10 hours), AAPLD cardholders earn a ticket for our grand prize drawings. Each age group has their own grand prizes to choose from:
