Celebrate National Nurses Week

Join Mercy Health System nurses in nurses weekcelebrating National Nurses Week (May 6-12) by stopping by the Harnish Main Library on Saturday, May 12 from 10am to 2pm. Mercy nurses will be on hand to provide free blood pressure screenings, wellness information, and advice about choosing nursing as a career. Stop by and meet these unique individuals who share a commitment to protecting, promoting, and improving health care.

The first National Nurses Week was celebrated in 1954, the 100th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s mission to the Crimea. In 1982, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation that May 6 would be recognized as National Nurses Day.
