Roofing, framing, and more

exterior framing

You may have heard shingles being delivered this week. There was certainly a lot of booming from above, but the stock has been placed so that the roof replacement can begin the week of October 30. Please be prepared for more noise.

Framing of the exterior of the addition is almost complete. If you look out and see part of the building that extends above the roofline, you are looking at the dormer window, an interesting architectural element that be a feature of our Quiet Reading Room. Also, some brick has been laid around the lower part of the addition.

Framing of the interior of the addition is underway, along with lines demarcating the upper level Adult Services study rooms and the administration offices. The Youth Services workroom on the lower level is almost completely framed. If you haven't taken a look inside from the patio, now would be a good time to do that as the exterior insulation installation is almost complete and the view in will be minimized.

On Monday, October 30, the Board will be signing a steel column in the new addition, to make their mark on the construction project. Also, on November 3, the movers will be coming to take away more shelving units and relocate some shelving units.
