1galleryNov2017During November, enjoy the works of Larry Bychowski hanging in the Harnish Main Library gallery. Bychowski’s acrylic on canvas creations capture his tour of duty experiences in Vietnam as well as his interactions with nature.

2galleryNov2017Bychowski has worked professionally as an artist, but most of his work has been created for friends and family. Whether painting on canvas, building with wood, or creating designs with glass and mirrors, he works from the heart for the people he cares about.

Bychowski’s influences range from the wilds of the north woods to the geometric marvels of urban landscapes. But his service in Vietnam may have influenced him the most.

During his 13-month tour of duty in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta and in the north Marble Mountains, Bychowski experienced things that movies are made of. A crew chief of treetop level recon aircraft (the Mohawk), he was even forced to eject at an altitude of less than 500 feet after taking fire from ground forces. His wartime experiences have led to some amazing paintings. Be sure to stop by and take a look at the gallery this month.
