September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and this year the celebration is groovy! 2026 marks 50 fabulous years at our Eastgate location, so grab your bell-bottoms and get ready to celebrate everything that makes your library and community DYN-O-MIIIIITE!
Get a Library Card, if you already have one, give yourself a high five, then dust off your disco moves and see if you can be the trivia king or queen.
Throughout September, test your knowledge with our 70s Local Trivia Contest, running September 1–30 and open to all ages. You can find trivia forms at both AAPLD locations. Whether you remember the 70s around the Algonquin Area firsthand or you’re just a fan of the decade, you can play along for a chance to win one of two totally far out prize baskets:
- A 70s-Themed Basket filled with retro fun
- A Modern 2026 Basket featuring some of today’s favorites

Join us after hours on Friday evening, September, 18, 6-9 pm at the Eastgate Branch for Murder at Studio 115, a groovy mystery experience where you’ll put your detective skills to the test.
For $10 per person, enjoy refreshments, a whole lot of 70s fun, and a murder mystery that needs solving.
