Wages: Starts at $19.78-$21.78/hour - depending on qualifications and experience

Description
The Algonquin Area Public Library is looking for a friendly, customer service focused person to join our Adult Services team. The Adult Services Library Associate will serve on a team of librarians, specialists, and library associates providing teens, adults, and seniors with reference, readers’ advisory, and computer assistance, as well as help in using digital collections and devices.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Providing senior and homebound outreach
- Greeting patrons and maintaining a friendly, welcoming environment
- Providing basic reference and readers’ advisory assistance
- Assisting with ILL services
- Helping patrons with various forms of technology
- Promoting and assisting patrons with use of library services and departmental equipment
- Managing meeting and study room reservations
- Assisting with program registration
- Other duties may include assisting with special projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or LTA
- Demonstrated interest and skill in providing services to teens, adults, and seniors a plus
- Previous experience in a customer service position or library position is preferred
