Philosophy/General Purpose: The philosophy of Sonshine Christian Preschool is to provide children with a developmentally appropriate and positive learning environment that is Christian based. Curriculum: Our curriculum includes calendar and weather; free choice play; interest centers such as math, science, open-ended art, puzzles, books; and bi-monthly chapel time. We utilize monthly themes that encourage children to experiment, explore and develop skills at their own ability level. Enrichment Program: This program is for children 4 and 5years old that will be going to kindergarten the following year. Five days of daily attendance will give children the gift of TIME – time to grow, time to explore emerging concepts and time to reinforce growing skills. By using Literacy awareness, Phonics and Print enriched language techniques; we will help your child be prepared to go to kindergarten. In this well balanced program, the children will enjoy themselves and have fun while learning. The five day program is a wonderful opportunity for children who are eager for more experiences; summer and fall birthday five-year-olds; children who may just need more time and opportunity to enhance their development; and additional focus on language and phonics, science or math and extended literacy activities.
