Padded Walls for Eclectic Cafe 9th Anniversary! I walk into this room And I feel a weight lift off my chest I walk into this room And I feel at home As though no one here will ever judge me Or dislike me for how I dress I walk into this room And in a moment The need to break down melts into nothing I walk into this room And suddenly The pain goes away But soon enough I have to leave I walk into this room And I savor every moment Until it's time to leave I walk into this room And for these sweet blessed hours I feel whole I walk into this room And I know that this room Is made of the walls That keep the madness in I walk out of this room And I Am still sane. ---2007 Sarah Rosengarten aka JingleHopper The Eclectic Cafe A place of darkened minds. A house to those who find it. A world of eclectic emotions. Eclectic, a collaboration of differences. A realm of mixed emotions. Anger, hatred, pain, sorrow. Joy, happiness, love, friendship. Where these things combine, Eclectic Cafe. Back to the early days, But with some of the new. Back to anger, but keep the love. A balance of emotions, Eclectic Cafe. A collaboration of all things. A collaboration of all emotions. A collaborations of the opposite sides of the spectrum. Eclectic Cafe. --2005 Sam Podraza aka Speqtre

"As I stand before you tonight I feel like I'm wanted, like this place wouldn't be the same without me. I listen to all your poems or songs or whatever it is you do best and I applaud for you (not because it is the polite thing to do) but when I am here I have so many memories. Like Ben reading the jokes off Laffy Taffy wrappers, or Nick's poem about women, that time Emily sang so well, she got a standing ovation. All those countless times Maria and Eriq got into a battle with their hate poems to each other! Linda's fearful poems. All the memories, one place, one night. Hearts got broken here, relationships started here. Tears and smiles were here. I love it most when the whole group can all laugh at something or shed a tear for someone. At that point there is no judging or anyone just a good solid group laugh or tear. I don't know about you, but I feel welcome, our busy lives come together this night to celebrate who we really are. So I say welcome friend, welcome a new found family! For now we are home. Share your soul with touching words, let me hear you! --1999 Crystal Bittner |
