Metacrawler, Ixquick, Search.com and DogPile allow you to use multiple search engines simultaneously.

If your search is for full-text articles from magazines, newspapers, and other sources, our Special Subscription Databases will provide the best results.

Subject Category Directories:

Yahoo! Directory, The Open Directory, and The Librarians' Internet Index are all great places to browse your way to information using various subject headings. Most have keyword searching as well.
