Access Your Library Card Account
To access your account you will need to login with your library card barcode number (or Bibliocommons username) and current password (which is "patron" if you have never changed it).
Click Here to Enter Your Account!
If you are logging into Bibliocommons for the very first time, you will need to complete the following steps:
- Enter your birth month and year if prompted. This information is not required, but if you do not enter it, the catalog will assume you are a minor and you will be restricted from certain functions.
- Create a username. You can use this username to log in instead of having to remember your library card number! Your username can be changed later.
- Enter your email address. THIS IS OPTIONAL, but it allows you to be notified by email if you forget your password.
- Accept the Terms of Use statement.
- Change your password if you are still using the default “patron”. This protects the privacy of your account, since your username will be displayed on the catalog page after you login.
- Check the privacy settings on your account shelves. Users can create “shelves” of titles that you want to read, are currently reading, or have completed. By default, the content of these shelves are viewable by other users. Change your shelf settings to Private if you don’t want your shelves to be publicly viewable. Users are also advised to read the Privacy Statement linked at the bottom of the Bibliocommons page.
When your Bibliocommons session is finished, be sure to click the Log Out link at the top of the page, or exit your browser. This protects the privacy of your account. Click HERE for detailed help on using the Bibliocommons catalog.
