• Reader’s Advisory/Reference Librarian (Full-time)

The Algonquin Area Public Library is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative librarian to join the Adult Services staff, with a focus on reader’s advisory.  Primary responsibilities include selecting and maintaining the fiction collection, providing reader’s advisory, leading book discussions, creating content for library’s website, and some reference work.

Requirements
ALA-Accredited MLS degree.  Excellent customer service, computer skills, and a knowledge of contemporary fiction are required.  Public library experience preferred.

37.5 hours per week including at least one evening and rotating weekend schedule.

Salary:  Starts at $39,000 DOQ
